An intrepid CCM team of twelve completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in July and the team would like to take this opportunity to say a final big thank you to everyone involved, for their support in the lead up and during the event itself.
An incredible final total of £4,337.95 was raised for the two charities selected this year; Demelza Hospice for Children & the British Heart Foundation. The challenge itself was completed in good and not so good weather conditions in just over 28 hours; hiking over 23 miles and ascending over 3,000 metres over the three largest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. You can view a selection of the pictures in our earlier posts.
The fundraising efforts included another successful charity quiz night, as well as caption competitions, swear boxes and Barbara & Priscilla days (you might need to dig deeper for photographic evidence of these last two!).
Sam Taylor-Allkins, CCM Project Manager commented “The whole team made a fantastic effort to complete the challenge, the team spirit and camaraderie really made the difference in achieving our goals and making it up all three mountains. Inspirational determination from all involved ”
Early plans are in place for next year’s event which will be announced in the New Year, including which charities we will be supporting for 2016.
Many thanks once again
